Grand Canyon Snowstorm

A snowstorm over the US western states Tuesday, December 22nd 2009 was captured throughout the day by the National Park Service Webcam.  The sequence of images (about 15 minutes apart) tells the story.

The early part of the day was obscured with snow and darkness, and those images have been removed.  The final image is nightfall.  There were times during the day when the snow obscures the view and while time is passing, the images appear unchanged.

Note:  There are 35 individual images, and while each loads rapidly, it still may take a while to download them all (especially if you have a slow internet connection).  Please be patient.  The slideshow will begin when all the images have been downloaded.

Two days later, on Christmas Eve, it was sunny at the Grand Canyon.
