Distributional Inter-Relationships

Most univariate probability densities are related to each other - and to the Normal.

Many univariate probability densities are related to other probability densities, and many of these are traceable in one way or another to the Normal.

 

The Figure above illustrates the relationships among continuous distributions and the Normal. Similar relationships also exist for discrete distributions, as is depicted in the Figure below.
